40 years after the 7th bell in this peal suffered the same fate, the 6th bell has cracked from the corrosion of its original wrought-iron cast-in crown staple. A new 6th bell has been cast and tuned to replace the cracked bell, with much of the site work being undertaken by local volunteers. The new bell was first rung on Sunday 20th October 2024.
